Imlil\u2019s impressive view of the Atlas Mountains<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the striking dusty red landscape of the Atlas Mountains lies a small village known as Imlil, the ultimate hiking base to begin this Moroccan holiday. The trip\u2019s first hotel, Douar Samra, can be found in Imlil, though its vibrant array of colourful cushions, draped Moroccan fabrics and twinkling candles are a far cry from your conventional hotel. Looking out to the Atlas Mountains, the view from its rooftop terrace will take your breath away as you find yourself sipping fresh mint tea in this stunning mountainous panorama. In true Flash Pack style, it combines authentic charm with true comfort thanks to its Swiss owner Jacqueline (who\u2019s now a fully adopted local) knowing the importance of good toilets and a comfy bed.<\/p>\n

Taroudant, the Mini Marrakech\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Often described as a mini Marrakech, this Moroccan market town is an incredible town in its own right. Found in the heart of the Souss Valley with the mountains of High Atlas beyond, Taroudant is protected by mud red walls built in the 16th<\/sup> century that are still standing today, turrets and all. These walls now enclose a Moroccan maze of winding souk stalls, hidden archways and friendly artisans with stories to tell. Taroudant is a magical place for single travellers to immerse themselves in the bustling atmosphere, and there\u2019s much less tourists here compared to a certain other walled city.\"The<\/p>\n

A Rockin’ good time\u00a0at Tafraoute<\/strong><\/p>\n

Upon arrival at Chez Amaliya,\u00a0<\/i><\/span>the desert hideaway in\u00a0Tafraoute (a small victory after the authentic lack of road signs), you may think you\u2019ve accidently stumbled upon the set of a major Hollywood blockbuster. There\u2019s certainly no need for any CGI here though in this vast rock-dominated landscape where palm trees, secret pools and angular boulders cut across the endless skyline. A true oasis away from tourists, day 5 of the group tour will take you to an actual oasis at Tiout where you can swim in the desert without a mirage in sight. There\u2019s also Belgian artist Jean Veran\u2019s painted rocks to admire, a collection of boldly coloured rocks that stand striking and usual against a backdrop that is already a work of art.<\/p>\n

Kick back and relax at Legzira beach<\/strong><\/p>\n

Miles upon miles of desert coastline stretch invitingly along the Atlantic Coast where the blue shimmering ocean deeply contrasts to the dry, arid landscape running alongside. The golden sand of Legzira Beach is home to 2 natural stone arches, creating a dramatic backdrop of deep ochre as you arch into your next yoga position. Yoga is the perfect pastime to enjoy here with its total lack of tourists andpeaceful atmosphere of gently breaking waves and refreshing sea breeze.<\/p>\n

Surfing and sunset yoga near Tiznit<\/strong><\/p>\n

The old fortified town of Tiznit is a highly under-the-radar destination which is rarely visited by your average tourist. Ksar Massa, the group tour\u2019s final hotel, can be found north of Tiznit and is a coral-coloured fortress sitting pretty on 12 acres of golden dunes and sunset views. Local neighbours include fishermen living in the nearby caves where their hand-painted cave entrance numbers correspond with their bobbing fishing boats. The accommodation at Ksar Massa is a little more spacious, and there\u2019s also a beautiful terraced garden and 2 swimming pools to enjoy. Though if it\u2019s the ocean that floats your boat, day 7 sees a morning surfing lesson with awesome instructors to show you the ropes. Then its time to chill out doing some sunset yoga for a deep sense of serenity\u2026yoga in your local park might never be the same\u00a0again.<\/p>\n
